Mikko Seimola Brings Strong International Experience to Export Sales

FB Ketju’s sales team gained new strength this spring when Mikko Seimola started working with export customers. In his role, he focuses on opening up new market areas while also taking care of existing export clients.

Before joining FB Ketju, Mikko worked in a similar role as an Export Manager within the log house industry, operating mainly across four continents.

"The product and customer segments are different now, but the core fundamentals remain the same as in international sales in general. At FB Ketju, the product is highly technical, and I am a technical person myself. I always get excited when I have the chance to learn something completely new," Mikko says.

Based on his first few months, Mikko describes FB Ketju as an agile, great, and traditional company with wonderful colleagues and a great sense of humor.

"You get just the right amount of support from your colleagues whenever you need it. The onboarding has gone well, and learning by doing is always the best way. I’ve already visited a few customers with Timo Järvinen, so I’ve been able to see the chains in their actual operating environments."

A clear daily routine and rhythm haven't established themselves yet, as every day is different. So far, his days have involved calculating quotes, researching new market areas, and searching for contacts. Mikko works from home in Helsinki and visits the Lappi office regularly.

"To counterbalance work, I spend a lot of time boating in the archipelago, walking in the woods, and picking mushrooms. Sauna culture is also close to my heart, and I love visiting and trying out different saunas."

Mikko speaks several languages, which is a major asset for anyone working in exports.

"I speak French almost like a native speaker, my English and Spanish are strong, I get by in Swedish, and I know polite phrases in many different languages," he laughs.
