FB Ketju’s Maintenance Officer Simo Boman Guarantees Uninterrupted Production
"Understanding and building the big picture at work has always been the most important thing for me”, says FB Ketju’s Maintenance Officer Simo Boman.
FB Ketju's new Maintenance Officer Simo Boman ensures that chain production always runs smoothly and that unexpected machinery failures do not occur. At the core of his diverse job description are strong foresight and an effective maintenance strategy.
"My work is a combination of reactive, corrective, and predictive maintenance. I actively monitor indicators that utilize analytics and artificial intelligence. Today's technology and digitalization play a major role alongside tools and spare parts.”
Simo's job description also includes training certified personnel, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with instructions. Although the company has its own mechanical personnel, external repairers are an important part of the maintenance team.
Before joining FB Ketju, Simo worked as a quality and project engineer at a car and battery industry, so he is already familiar with robotics. Now, at the chain factory, he is working with some of the same topics, and learns something new every day.
"Understanding and building the big picture at work has always been the most important thing for me. Every day, I do a Gemba walk on the production side, which is an active way to better understand the work environment and processes. This allows me to address any problems as they arise.”
Based on my first few months, FB Ketju has proven to be a pleasant place to work.
“The company is profitable and the work community is fantastic. Variety is refreshing, and I have already identified potential areas for development.”
Simo lives with his family in Laitila, and he is also interested in mechanical matters in his free time.
