ECOSAVING – Reduce Emissions and Boost Efficiency
Environmental threats have become increasingly immediate, with more tangible effects. ECOSAVING, developed by FB Kedjor AB, combines corporate environmental responsibility with economic benefits. The solution helps to cut emissions and consumption while improving cost efficiency.
WHAT IS ECOSAVING?
The ECOSAVING solution, developed by FB Kedjor, focuses on tangible ecological and economic calculations and savings. It targets reductions in CO₂ emissions, water and energy consumption, while also improving cost efficiency.
ECOSAVING is applicable wherever products containing steel are supplied. The solution consists of four modules, which can be implemented individually or as a whole, depending on needs. Documented results support decision-making for management, procurement, and maintenance, enabling companies to reduce their environmental impact without compromising competitiveness.
DEVELOPMENT
ECOSAVING was born in collaboration with SSAB, the world’s most advanced steel producer, which had created its own EcoUpgraded concept. Both companies have long shared the principle of helping customers extend product lifetimes and save energy.
In 2015, FB Kedjor began developing the ECOSAVING solution for its customers, building on EcoUpgraded. FB Kedjor added water consumption, recognizing the growing importance of clean water in many markets. The concept was tested and refined to meet customer needs as comprehensively as possible and was launched more broadly in 2022 as part of FB Group’s services.
BENEFITS AND OPPORTUNITIES
FB Group’s conveyor chains can reduce carbon footprint compared to the global average. This is achieved by combining high-quality European iron ore, renewable electricity, optimized logistics, and precise product design.
With ECOSAVING, raw material use can be reduced, equipment lifetimes extended, energy consumption lowered and capacity of the machine can be increased. All four modules support each other, strengthening both economic and ecological sustainability:

2. Extended machine lifetime, thanks to better-adapted materials.

WHAT DOES ECOSAVING PROVIDE?
ECOSAVING calculates total costs and highlights environmental savings achieved. Documented results support decision-making across operations and add value-based selling power. They also strengthen brand and market position with reliable data.
Users gain full access to the ECOSAVING web application, featuring automated calculations and available in multiple languages (Finnish, Swedish, English, German, and Norwegian). The app provides forecast, status, and results views. The package includes maintenance, data storage, security, training, support services, and access to demonstrations.
CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS
FB Kedjor is committed to reducing both its own and its customers’ CO₂ emissions. For this reason, new solutions are continuously sought to cut carbon impact through improved product design, logistics, and procurement.
FB Kedjor has analyzed the carbon footprint of steel conveyor chains from raw material to customer sites. This footprint data enables customers to improve the quality of their Scope 3 reporting. FB Kedjor’s conveyor chains allow for a 10% smaller carbon footprint compared to the global average (based on SSAB benchmark 2020).
The reports generated by ECOSAVING can also be used in this context.
