Joonas Huhtanen got to know FB Ketju and chains through his summer job. During the summer, he got to know a company he had never been to before, and what he will remember most about the summer is the good working atmosphere and its customer and quality orientation.
What kind of work has your summer job included?
I have been working in the financial department, i.e. doing purchase accounting and entering bank statements. At the same time, I have been working on a project on emissions accounting, which was also the subject of my thesis during my studies. In this project I have calculated the emissions of processes, which is a surprisingly large task as it consists of so many elements.
What has been of particular interest?
It has been fun to do the project because it is new to me. I’ve been able to do it independently and used my own abilities.
What new things have you learned since your studies?
I’m studying at a business school, majoring in accounting and finance. It’s been a win-win situation; I’ve learned the basics from my studies, but here I’ve learned through practice. You learn best by doing!
How do you feel about this company as an employer, workplace and company?
FB Ketju is a progressive player in this field. The company’s customer and quality focus has been the most obvious to me. The working atmosphere is great and the humor is great – sometimes even good. It’s been nice to come to work with a good team.
Who would you recommend FB Ketju as a place to work?
I can recommend it to everyone, especially those who are able to work independently and take initiative. Of course, there is help available, so everyone will certainly adapt to working here. Although people are different, everyone gets on well together.
What has been the most memorable thing about the summer?
The most memorable things are the sauna on the first day of work and a summer day trip to Turku. The most memorable part of the summer job was when you get through a difficult project and get the work moving. Those are rewarding moments.
FB Ketju thanks Joonas for the summer and for his careful coffee brewing, and wishes him good luck for his studies in the autumn!
